SCASS Organizes a Special 3-Day Workshop with Four Elite Swedish Space Institutions
The Sharjah Center for Astronomy and Space Sciences organized a 3-day workshop from March 16th to the 18th, 2019 with four elite Swedish space research institutions. The workshop was related to technology development and Research and Development Space Programs in the areas of Cube Satellites, Suborbital Rockets, Space Debris Tracking, and Rocket and Balloon Student Program for University Students together with Space Learning for a younger generation in the United Arab Emirates.
This was a triple helix cooperation between the Sharjah Center for Astronomy and Space Sciences (SCASS), University of Sharjah (UoS), Aurora Training Center, Swedish Space Corporation (SSC), Luleå University of Technology, KTH Royal Institute of Technology and Saab.
The workshop was split into several workgroups:
- Cube Satellites (Communication systems)
- Suborbital Rockets and Balloon Student Program
- Space Debris Tracking
- Space Learning for a younger generation (Aurora)
- Data Science
- Masters Program
The workshop was intended to enhance the space sciences research of the University of Sharjah and the Sharjah Center for Astronomy and Space Sciences.
