Students Projects
Several on-going projects are carried by UOS students of the Department of Applied Physics. Among these projects, we can list a few:

  1. Observations of Double Stars
  2. Spectra of Different Types of Stars (O, B, A, F G, K, M)
  3. Studying Variable Stars
  4. Astrometry of known asteroids
  5. Detecting exoplanets transit
  6. Using Sunspots to Determine the Rotation of the Sun
  7. Using a digital camera to measure Skyglow
  8. Finding the center of the Milky Way using Globular Star Clusters
  9. Counting sunspots on an image of the Sun

Students will have to spend several nights at the observatory to take their data, and then must write a small research paper presenting their findings.
